Fill Me Up Lord//Rooted In & Knowing the Love

Since my blog has been a little quiet lately I thought I would fill in the gap with some devotions I have written before but never shared here…;-) I will post a “real” blog/update sometime soon! Blessings to you, friends. ❤ jc

Fill Me Up Lord//Rooted In & Knowing the Love

In Ephesians 3, Paul prays this for the people of God:

“…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”

To know what is too big for knowing. It goes incredibly beyond comprehending, but we can have familiarity and taste it’s fullness and richness. Experience it’s breadth and length and height and depth, and know the love of Christ, being filled up to all the fullness of God. Possible? Yes. In Christ.

You know how love is empowering? Perhaps when your husband shows his love for you, suddenly you have new strength to press on through your day. Or maybe you spend time with a friend and your visit brings new life and energy to your spirit. Is there anything as precious and encouraging as the arms of a child wrapped around your neck, spontaneously declaring “I love you, Mama!”?  Being rooted, grounded, centered by this love fills us up. Paul prayed for the Ephesians to be filled up to fullness.

I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel EMPTY. Spent spent spent. My inner man is worn the heck out. But I pray, for you and for me, that God would help us to be so rooted and grounded in love, to know beyond knowing that incredible love of Christ, that we may be filled up to all the fullness of God (what an incredible thought — from the weakness of man to the power of God!).

Not only that, but HE IS ABLE…”to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think…”
