As Summer into Autumn slips

As Summer into Autumn slips
And yet we sooner say
“The Summer” than “the Autumn,” lest
We turn the sun away,

And almost count it an Affront
The presence to concede
Of one however lovely, not
The one that we have loved —

So we evade the charge of Years
On one attempting shy
The Circumvention of the Shaft
Of Life’s Declivity.

– Emily Dickinson

Happy Autumn! Or is it summer? The 101 F temps this past weekend suggest it may still be summer…but here’s to pumpkin spice latte’s and jackets in the evening and trips to the apple orchard! 🙂

  1. I agree Fall is wonderful. It is my favorite season of all. Love the chill, the crisp apples, the renewed energy from the lazy days of summer. I heard that the temp may be falling in a day or so…..hurray!!! Love the seasons God has given us here in mid-Am. Have fun on your trip to Colorado and enjoying your Huston family. Love to all.
